NYC Interior Design is a full service firm specializing in high end residential projects. The mission of NYC Interior Design is to create interiors that are timeless, original and warm. The company was formed by principal Erika Almeida. Trained as an Interior Designer in New York City and originally from Ecuador, Erika has developed a passion for design from different eras, origins, cultures and styles. Her understanding of scale, proportion and design leads her to create harmonious, clean and warm residential environments.
Erika Almeida studied at the New York School of Interior Design and gained her experience working at two top design firms in New York City. She has designed, renovated and redesigned high end residential projects throughout the city and was fortunate to work on Metropolitan Home’s Showtime House, a $20 million, 8,800 square foot Greek Revival townhouse in New York’s Grammercy Park that was transformed into a chic modernist dwelling with interiors that represented the spirit of the cable channel’s hit shows such as Californication, The Tudors, The L Word and Weeds.

Inspired by her father, a talented master craftsman, Erika has a thorough understanding of custom furniture design, restoration, and construction of fine hand crafted furniture and antiques. Erika’s affinity for classical forms and close attention to detail, texture and color permeate a sophisticated and elegant approach to functional living environments. Often her projects begin with only one or two rooms and develop into full scale designs and renovations. Erika’s clients value her attention to detail, her enthusiastic energy and her ability to translate her client’s lifestyle and preferences into inspiring, functional spaces.
The projects of NYC Interior Design have taken Erika from coast to coast with clients in Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, Westchester, the Hamptons, Greenwich, the Carribean and throughout New York City.
