The japanese architect Tadao Ando has revealed his latest project, an apartment building in New York city. The seven-unit condo will be developed at 152 Elizabeth Street in Nolita, Manhattan, and is the first project in this location for Tadao Ando.
The building is located at the corner of Kenmare and Elizabeth Streets, has seven stories and each apartment will measure 1,900 square feet to approximately 5,600 square feet and will have at least one parking spot.
Ando is known by his minimalist designs that make in won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1995, the Praemium Imperiale in 1996, the Carlsberg Architecture Prize in 1992 and the Kyoto Prize in 2002. The project includes the architect signature: simplecubic forms, concrete and glass.
Each apartment is being planned like a unique place with customized design choices of decoration. The chosed interior designers are Michael Gabellini and Kimberly Sheppard, Armani, Jil Sander and Ferragamo.
