Mr. Thierry Despont is an architect, designer and artist with his offices and studio in New York, who specializes in unique and high end designed residential projects, hotels and museums, and historical renovations.
Born and raised in France, Mr. Despont is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts of Paris and holds a degree of Master of City Planning in Urban Design from Harvard University. He is a member of the French Order of Registered Architects and a charter member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Established in 1980, The Office of Thierry W Despont, Ltd. has acquired an outstanding reputation as a foremost residential and hospitality design firm with an elite clientele in both North America and Europe.
Mr. Despont was Associate Architect for the Centennial Restoration of the Statue of Liberty and has completed the restoration of Clayton, the Frick family mansion in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Despont designed the Decorative Arts Galleries of the new J. Paul Getty Museum and, in collaboration with Richard Meier, was responsible for the interior design of the museum’s sculpture and painting galleries.
Bill Gates, J.Crew CEO Mickey Drexler, movie producer Sidney Kimmel, are just some of the clients of Mr. Despont.
