Celebrate design and creativity: VISIT NYCXDESIGN

NYCxDesign is New York’s celebration of design and creativity, running from 8 to 19 May, 2015. This event has is fourth edition this year in various venues, museums, galleries and fairs across the city.

NYC X DESIGN 1

The celebration encompasses a vast ensemble of different creative events, related to design, architecture, graphics, fashion, technology and urbanism.

Hosted in New York City May 8 – 19, NYCxDESIGN brings together all the disciplines of design, commerce, culture, education, and entertainment with a full, varied program, including exhibitions, installations, trade shows, talks, launches and open studios.

2014, the second year of the celebration, featured over 200 events by 162 organizers at 181 venues across all of New York City and included topics from graphic design to architecture, technology and urban design to fashion and product design, interiors to landscape, furniture to design thinking, and more.

NYCxDESIGN welcomes all residents and visitors (domestic and international) to experience New York City’s vibrant design scene. Most NYCxDESIGN events are free to enter. Ticketed events are managed by host/organizing venues. Before heading out, check listing and contact details for each event you’re interested in attending.

Areaware, a New York City-based design brand, and Pratt Institute have partnered to present an exhibition titled Objects of the Moment: An Exploration in Counting, Marking, and Contemplating Time as part of WantedDesign in Brooklyn. Under the direction of Industrial Design faculty members Sinclair Smith and Henry Yoo, Pratt industrial design graduate students have created a range of household and tabletop products that help keep, save, and treasure time in various ways.
