If you didn’t have the chance to attend this ceremony and were too busy to watch it on TV, here is what happened yesterday in the night of nights at Rockefeller Center:
Since this tree arrived on the Plaza, the Rock Center team prepared with love the 72 foot tall Norway spruce for its big debut and yesterday they lighted up Tree’s 50,000 lights, as well as the new 9 foot wide Swarovski Star designed by world famous architect Daniel Libeskind.
Artists such as John Legend, Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, and Martina McBride performed for thousands of New Yorkers and tourists at this year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Don’t be sad if you didn’t have the change to go, the tree will remain there until January 7, 2019, and on Christmas Day it twinkles for a full 24 hours.
