Amanda Nisbet, an interior designer that NY Design Agenda simply loves her projects is in tour promoting her new book. Find out everything with us.Since its beginning in 1998, Amanda Nisbet Design has become one of New York’s most distinctive, sought-after creators of refreshing, abundant elegance. The designer’s signature bold embrace of pattern, color and texture, all held in exquisite balance, has enlivened exclusive residences in North America and Europe, and resulted in gracious, welcoming interiors that express Nisbet’s special alchemy of refinement and livability.
Despite her formal art history training and years at Christie’s auction house, Nisbet prefers to upend the usual design rules, in favor of a fresh, energetic approach that draws as much upon intuition as tradition. Mixing function and style, classical motifs and contemporary idioms, in rich and unexpected ways, Nisbet never loses her sense of wit and whimsy, or her conviction that a home is for living in, and the designer’s job is first and foremost to answer a client’s needs, wishes and dreams. Accordingly, Nisbet keeps both her company and number of active projects small, thus ensuring her involvement with – and commitment to – every home she creates.SEE ALSO – TOP INTERIOR DESIGNER NYC: SAM SIMON
