Stay Classy New York, a poorly punctuated Will Ferrell–themed bar, has arrived in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, giving Ron Burgundy fans a place to say, “I don’t know how to put this but I’m kind of a big deal,” without the eye rolls that come with one-liners. The walls of the bar feature custom painting and sculpture tributes to Will Ferrell characters, from outrageous fashion mogul Mugatu of Zoolander to NASCAR racer Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights. The brainchild of entrepreneurs and best friends Zach Neil and Brian Link, Stay Classy New York also hopes to offer movie nights in the near future.
“This bar is kind of like the place where a 35- or 40-year-old person could come and sit and not be intimidated by loud techno music but still be surrounded by things that are funny and ridiculous and kinda get it,” Neil told PIX11. “That’s what Will Ferrell has always meant to us.”The theme doesn’t stop at the walls. The entire cocktail list is inspired by Ferrell’s movie characters and their respective inside jokes. Our favorites include:
Did We Just Become Best Friends?, two shots that you can share with your best friend, date, or stepbrother.
Glass Case of Emotion, made of muddled rosemary and peach, whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup.
We’re Going Streaking, said to be “adult Kool-Aid” with Absolut mandarin, peach schnapps, triple sec, and a slew of fruit juices.
The bar is currently in previews and will officially open on October 25 with an Anchorman-themed Halloween party. Head back around the holidays for an Elf-themed Christmas party. Here’s to hoping there’s an alternative to spaghetti with chocolate syrup.Explore our pinterest board for more inspirations about the amazing New York City and also about NYC’s events, arts and even design world.
