Last week, the race was on and the global design crowd descended upon New York for the nation’s most important design happenings. From the International Contemporary Furnishings Fair (ICFF) to Wanted Design, the second annual Sight Unseen Offsite, and Collective Design, here’s an extremely tight edit of the best the design world had to offer for 2015.
So take a look at this selection!
Link Porcelain by Apparatus Studio, exhibited at ICFF. Created in collaboration with ceramicist Alice Goldsmith, the Link Porcelain pendant combines handmade porcelain links with oversized spun brass shades and woven brass mesh cords.
DelightFULL is an exclusive emotional experience, a sense of belonging and a state of mind. We strive to encourage sensational experiences by creating beautiful pieces which are passionately inspired and handcrafted in Portugal by a staff that loves what they do; experiences which pass on the feeling of exclusivity. This year, at ICFF joined with other 4 brands, Brabbu, Koket, Boca do Lobo and Maison Valentina.
“Ward Bennett: Making Sense” at Project No. 8, 38 Orchard Street. Working with The Herman Miller Collection and Geiger, Various Projects conceived a public showcase of the late New York designer Ward Bennett, including jewelry, glassware, sculpture, furniture, and interiors.
Exhibited at ICFF, the Fri armchair designed by Jaime Hayón for Fritz Hansen is a natural extension of the designer’s Ro family.
Foscarini hosted Italian photographer Gianluca Vassallo for a residency during design week, as he created his project Twice Light around New York.
