New York Loft
Dear New Yorks,
During new york design week, the 1:1 Piero Lissoni Exhibition joined forces with a group of emerging brooklyn designers, architects and artisans — producing both independently and for leading brands — in the realization of the temporary ‘Casa Lissoni’.
Piero Lissoni is an Italian architect and designer, known for his contemporary furniture design. Lissoni was born in 1956 and graduated from the Milan Polytechnic with a degree in architecture in 1978. Six years later, he began working as an Art Director and Designer at Boffi, an Italian architecture firm which specializes in designing kitchens and bathrooms. A few years later, he founded the architectural firm Lissoni Associates with Nicoletta Canesi.
Within a 4,000 square foot space in brooklyn’s sunset park neighborhood, lissoni has added his own examples of design — a lacquered grey wardrobe for porro, chairs, tables, upholstery for living divani, a kitchen for boffi and light fixtures from flos.
The italian designer has conceived the ultimate contemporary space for living and working, pairing classics with locally-produced pieces.
In collaboration with brooklyn-based creatives, lissoni has included the work of local practices within the industrial loft dwelling, comprising pieces from the collections of token, fort standard, snarkitecture, bec brittain, bower, avandi, assembly design, patrick weder, townsend design and PELLE.

“The space is so industrial, which is already a contrast with what Piero is designing. I felt like it needed some kind of kick,” said Scheve of her curatorial approach. “That’s when I started to look for all of these young designers.”
Lissoni is a very minimalistic designer and has worked with many of the world’s most notable design companies, including furniture maker Kartell and others.
