Retro inspired VW Beetle presented special edition concepts at New York Auto Show 2015. New line includes 4 models – two cabriolets and two coupés. New appearances of the cars will be varied from jeans inspired Denim edition to Beetle Wave and the magenta-sprayed Pink Color Edition hatch.
Although it cannot be denied that Beetle is made to be stylish, this debut proved that Beetle in not only a fashion statement but has highly performance-oriented approach.
R-line stands for automotive sportiness and got 20-inch alloys on a wider track, an aero pack with a rear diffuser and spoiler. The combination of black trim and white pearl finish looks perfect. Entire concept is boasted by the 2.0-liter TSI engine with 217 horsepower. The car construction is made with lower roof. It is also 0.6 inches wider than former Beetles and has a longer hood.
The Denim convertible collection uses unique fabric to make a visual connection with jeans. In addition it has side skirts, body moldings and gray mirror caps which contrast well with the ‘stonewashed blue metallic’ color of the body and ‘dark blue’ of the soft top.
The next novelty is a pink coupé, made to fill increasing demand for more special color versions of the cars. What this model has unique is not only the color but also striking R-line front and bumpers which are adding more aggressive character to the car. The interior was made in contrast to the outside by using chrome, aluminum and black finishes.
First model of Volkswagen’s Beetle arrived to United States in 1949 and has a long, continuous history here. The new Beetle Wave edition has a lot from American beaches spirit. It is lovely coated in ‘habanero orange metallic’ shade. This design meets east and west coast inspirations and is clearly made to make summer more enjoyable!
