Steven Gambrel is the founder and president of S.R. Gambrel, Inc., an influential interior design firm specializing in both residential and commercial commissions, as well as custom product and furnishings.
Founded in 1996, only three years after earning a degree in architecture from the University of Virginia, Steven was recognized for his endless dedication to create highly customized interiors and architectural details for each project.
If you have in mind a polished duplex in town, a rambling country house or a beach retreat weekend, Steven serves the needs of every customer with his passion for timeless, comfortable homes that get better with age.
Inspired by architectural details of the specific region of each Commission. Steven is based on the importance of correctly proportioned structures and details, a partnership with a carefully curated collection of vintage, antique and custom furniture designed by Steven himself.
Located in a renovated cabaret in New York’s historic West Village, S.R. Gambrel, Inc. is currently working on several large projects in and around Manhattan, the Hamptons, Zurich, and Hong Kong.
S.R. Gambrel recently developed a custom lighting line with the Urban Electric Company and designed a custom accessories line with the Lacquer Company. In 2011 he established a product with Waterworks known as Grove Brickworks.
Most recently, Steven Gambrel has launched the new custom furniture resource website, Dering Hall, in his capacity as a founding partner.
