M. Arthur Gensler Jr. & Associates, Inc., referred to as Gensler, is an American design and architecture firm headquartered in San Francisco. In 2012, Gensler generated the most revenue of any architecture firm based in the US for the second year in a row.As of 2015, it operates offices in 46 cities in 16 countries worldwide.
Gensler Mission
“For us, design is the means. The starting points are goals, strategies and expectations, but it transcends them to create a new and better reality. Design is transformative.”
Gensler has a lot of projects all round the world, we will show you some of them:
Chiba, Japan
Gensler’s San Francisco and Tokyo teams worked cross-collaboratively with multimedia retail giant, QVC, to design a workplace that highlights connectivity, a culture of individuality and a colorful aesthetic. QVC Japan Headquarters delivers a workspace fostering communication among its employees and incubating new ideas. The seven-story, 403,500-square-foot building commands a strong presence through the use of precast concrete panels enlivened with color, graphics and loftlike interwoven spaces.
Los Angeles, California
Moving from Santa Monica to downtown Los Angeles, Gensler chose a highly visible site for its new offices. Here, the firm’s values are embodied in a workplace of the future and design lab for clients. The open and flexible workspace focuses around a three-story atrium with an adjacent stair. The collaborative areas, expressed as distinct objects, provide space for various work modes to co-exist. As an inspiration to designers, the office exhibits multiple uses of a variety of materials, furniture, finishes and details.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
To embody its belief in the power of ideas and the importance of fostering new and bold ones, the heart of this successful advertising agency’s three-story workplace is its “town square.” An open stair connects reception and executive offices with a third-floor client café. Workspaces are oriented around a “collaboration ribbon” comprising open meeting rooms, lounges and support spaces. Less-formal meeting areas – “living rooms” – offer the technology needed by the firm’s creative teams as they review advertising spots.
Long ranked one of the world’s leading architecture firms, Gensler’s New York office was established in 1979 and now comprises 500 professionals specializing in master planning, strategic consulting, entertainment, hospitality, retail, sports, transportation, and workplace design.
