ELSIE DE WOLFE

After her famous decoration project of the Colony Club (the city’s first elite social club exclusive for women), the interior designer became the most popular decorator of her time!

SISTER PARISH

USA Design Legends usa design legends USA Design Legends USA Design Legends TOP Interior Designers 5The interior designer from 1960 was famous for her bold interior design projects where she seamlessly married together design elements (chintz, hooked rugs, quilted textures, and overstuffed armchairs) with her creative painted floors. She was the first practitioner brought in to decorate the Kennedy White House, a position soon occupied by French interior decorator Stéphane Boudin.
